Description of all offices and councils
University Council: It is the highest level of decision-making within the university's institutionalization. It represents all components of the university. It represents the autonomous and confederal university. This council consists of the student council spokespeople, two higher education student spokespeople, department heads, teacher spokespeople, co-chairs of faculties and colleges, heads of higher education institutes, the general responsable of the language institute, spokespeople of the women's council, and the university co-chairs and their deputies.
Women's Council: It is the autonomous women's organization and decision-making body of the university. It represents all of the women's components of our university.
Student Council: The Student Council operates to protect the will of students within the democratic system of the university, to develop democratic and ecological awareness, women's freedom and scientific level in education. It is also aimed to develop a mechanism where students can express their criticism, suggestions and opinions regarding the university's administration and education system. The main goal is to protect the intellectual and academic rights of students. The Council also organizes social, cultural, artistic and sports activities.
Academic Affairs Center:
Affiliated to the university's vice president for academic affairs. It includes the following departments:
1- Academic Board: Consists of several committees that oversee and monitor all activities related to the preparation of curricula, teaching materials, methods, and graduate projects, as well as evaluating the level of teachers.
2- Institute of Languages: Supervises and organizes language teaching programs. It also issues official certificates to those who have achieved certain levels in each language.
3- Examination Services: Examination services are managed in coordination with the examination services departments of the faculties and colleges.
4- Laboratories Department: It is responsible for the overall management of the university's laboratories, monitoring their activities, and providing them with equipment and materials.
Center for Higher Education and Research: It is under the responsibility of the university's vice-president for academic studies and research. All branches and departments of higher education, academic research centers, higher education institutes, journals, and the university's resource preparation center are affiliated with this center.
Student Affairs Center: It is affiliated with the Vice President for Student Affairs. It oversees all student affairs. The center includes the following departments:
1- General Administration of Dormitories: Consists of 2 people, one woman and one man; they oversee the operation of the dormitories.
2- Activities Office: Supervises all cultural, sports, ecological and social activities of students.
3- General Office of Student Affairs: Consists of 2 people who oversee the affairs of students in faculties and departments and meets with them once a month.
Administrative Services Center: All administrative services for teachers, staff and workers are related to this center. It operates under the supervision and monitoring of the university's vice president for administrative services. This center consists of the following offices:
1- Law Office
2- Staff and Faculty Affairs Office
3- Purchasing Committee
4- University Storehouse
5- Security Office
6- Service Office
7- Technical Office
8- Public Library
9- Communications Office
Women's Office: An office for women's affairs. It consists of an office responsable and an employee. It is used to conduct the work of the women's council. It is a place for the work and activities of the women's council committees. All university units are affiliated with this office.
General Secretariat: Records and archives all official documents that come into and go out of the university in a timely manner. It also records and archives all official documents that come into and go out between the university administration and faculties and colleges.
General Archives: Archives all records of faculty, staff, students, and university employees. Archives all letters, brochures, and official documents.
Finance Office: Provides funding to all university employees. Receives financial resources for all reform, service and innovation projects in the university from the relevant department. Monitors the financial performance of all scientific projects. Determines the annual budget under the supervision of the University Board of Directors.
External Relations Office: Establishes relations with local and international academic institutions and centers. Organizes all external services and activities of the university (inside and outside Syria). It organizes this in cooperation with the External Relations Board of the Autonomous Administration. Establishes relations with other universities for scientific panels and conferences.
